The Founders of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. recognized the importance of the intellect in all matters pertaining to the advancement of humankind. As such, they made scholarship the foremost of the Fraternity’s four Cardinal Principles: Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance, and Uplift. Scholarship is an integral and deep-rooted component of this organization. Every member, chapter, and district of the Fraternity is dedicated to scholarship.
In Washington, DC, the Alpha Omega Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. aims to help African-American high school males by providing them with financial assistance in their pursuit of a college education/degree. Each year, the Chapter awards over $20,000 in scholarships. The application for the 2025 scholarship awards is now open! Scholarship Applications Are Now Open!
Scholarship Criteria:
- Applicant must be a Black male graduating senior
- Attends high school (i.e., charter, independent, parochial, private, or public) in Washington, DC.
- Intending to enroll full-time in a degree-seeking program at a college or university
The Application Process:

- All applications must be submitted no later than midnight on April 1st, 2025
- Applicants will be notified of outcomes by May 1st, 2025
- Recipients are expected to attend the Award Program on May 18th, 2025.
